Cognizant GenC assessment: pattern and preparation
Cognizant hires freshers into tracks such as GenC, GenC Next and GenC Elevate; higher tracks add coding and harder technical rounds.
Usual rounds
- Aptitude: Quantitative ability, logical reasoning and English comprehension.
- Technical and coding (higher tracks): Programming questions and coding problems for the better-paid tracks.
- Interviews: A technical interview on your skills and projects, then HR.
Topics to practise
- Percentages
- Profit and loss
- Ratio and proportion
- Time and work
- Number and letter series
- Direction sense
- Coding-decoding
- Error spotting and sentence correction
Tips
- Aim for the higher tracks: practise coding problems, not just aptitude.
- Read passages quickly: practise English comprehension under time.
Patterns change every year and differ by role: check the official notice for your drive.
